Furthermore, Higley is giving the anti-EJami viewers fabulous ammunition to keep the whole idea of extorted sex alive and kicking. To quote the Soap Opera Weekly article in part:
"Sami asks EJ to stay away from Nicole," reports Scott. "EJ doesn't have a problem with only seeing Nicole in a professional capacity, but since Sami has to give him a reason to want to do that." Sami counters with a steamy kiss and starts undressing EJ.In other words, EJ makes a deal with Sami ... I do this for you, you do something for me. Sure, it's Sami who does the kissing and undressing, but as in December 29, it might just come across to those opposed to the couple (and I'm not talking about die-hard haters, but more way fence-sitters) that Sami is once again having sexual intercourse with EJ because it's something she feels she HAS to do to get something she wants, and not something that she would necessarily do if the situation weren't different. Of course, EJami fans are going to see that Sami does want EJ, does have true and genuine feelings for him. However, if the scenes play out the way James has previewed -- and there is definitely the possibility that such is not the case, for example * -- it does give those against the idea of EJami fuel for their righteous fire of indignation. Maybe it's just me, but the first time Sami and EJ had sex truly, I kinda hoped it would put an END to that kind of talk.
I know I sound like a broken record, but man, I know, I just *know* that EJami's first time under Hogan's watch would have been as magical and amazing as Santeen's ... actually better. I'm not expecting anything even remotely as wonderful from Higley's watch. I could be wrong; I very well could be wrong. We'll know soon enough.
* I think James actually previewed this in a way that it didn't come across at all to me. I think that if the visa news hadn't been there, EJ would have played up the whole accusation from Sami a bit more himself -- he's certainly had fun in the recent past doing so. His shutting Nicole down and making it clear that they weren't sleeping together seemed much, much more about getting the damn fax from Sami's hand than it did about assuring her that he wasn't sleeping with Nicole. And I actually like that better because it shows that unlike Lucas, EJ knows when to stop the games. Sami needs that from the guy she's with.
