I suppose what makes it feel so awkward and fragile, is the temp of their coming together. From Sami being completely unreasonable for months and months, it's happening in a matter of a few weeks and they're in bed. It comes off as a less solid foundation, than a slower build up without outside sources pushing them together. That's why it feels as if anyone could poke a hole in the baloon at any second. Unless, Lucas is the one who adamantly refuses to forgive Sami, they're gonna end up back together. Since she obviously tries to explain the situation. Hopefully Lucas' threats of taking their mutual children together away from her, will cause her to wake up from her brain washed state of thinking Lucas is a man she'd want to be with.

Glad the pep talk helped! ;-) For what it's worth, I completely understand what you're saying about the pacing etc. I think Jennifer? was right in saying that we're getting a storyline that is being moved forward with a LOT less subtlety and finesse than what HS had planned. I *do* think they altered the S/L to speed it up for May sweeps, and they brought in Nicole as a rather, imo, ham-handed and obvious way to push Sami and EJ together during the few months they had Lucas off-screen. The new regime decided they didn't want to wait for a November payoff for EJami, but that meant all the drawn out interpersonal psychological drama we might have gotten had to go in favor of this frankly somewhat less than believable jealousy storyline. So I totally get why you're finding it hard to believe, but this is one of those cases where we can be sooo glad for the internet, because it allows us to know that the *reason* they are shoving Nicole into this S/L is NOT because they want to hook up EJ and Nicole, but rather because they needed a faster way to hook up EJ and Sami. They figured they could put Bryan on ice for a few months, and race EJ and Sami to the finish line in time for May sweeps. Not as satisfying dramatically as what HS had planned, I imagine, but the key thing here is to keep firmly in mind that they have pegged EJami as the next supercouple - thus all the J/M parallels they are constantly drawing, never mind the Santeen parallels.

You know, in a funny way, it's sort of our own fault - the EJami community has been SO effective in clamoring for our couple, and pointing out that they should be the next Days supercouple, that TPTB decided they should make that happen sooner rather than later, and in process we lost some of the buildup we might have gotten. On the *other* hand, we are at least *getting* EJami, and getting them now, so there is time to enjoy them, should the worst happen next year (knock on wood, but just sayin').

I think you are right about a custody battle brewing for Ali because I do not believe EJ will allow Ali to be taken from the mansion and Sami and Johnny. This should prove to be very interesting with EJ working for Mickey as I'm sure Mickey and Maggie will be torn between their loyalty to Lucas and what is best for Sami and the twins. It's possible the new love interest for Lucas could be Ava as I'm thinking EJ is somehow going to end up her lawyer because of Steve and she will have to come by the mansion to meet with him and thus run into Lucas. Actually they might end up being good together because she has zero self esteem and so does he. Maybe Lucas will find in her someone who won't cheat on him and she will find some one loyal to her. I really can't picture him with anyone else on the show as chloe is too something for him, and Morgan is too tall. Nicole has too much history with him for that to work. Maybe Austin will die and Carrie will come back with Will and they can fight to get Ali as we all know what Carrie thinks about Sami. Will having changed the paternity could be in a panic that the news of a paternity switch could come out. I can dream. I just had a horrible thought ..what if Lucas and Ava hook up and Ava plans away for Lucas to have Ali by kidnapping her..this way she gets the baby she has always wanted and with a man who wants her...no don't go there. So many possibilities

Well, but this is Days, home of the instant INS decision lol. Frankly it would make more sense for Lucas to live with an actual relative rather than in the mansion, so I could see him getting that miraculously changed in a trice. I actually wonder if they are going to have something happen to *Sami* this summer, in order to allow her to be off-screen part of the time. Not sure who would kidnap *her* - maybe if Stef returns or something, or maybe we'll have some fun 'on the run' plot with her, EJ and the twins. :-) I'm going to be VERY interested to see if the casting rumors are true and they're bringing back a recast "Sami Jr." version of Will, who will turn out to have switched Ali's paternity - would be a nice bit o' karma there. ;-)
